Your Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Scenic Drive from Kigali to Bwindi

Your journey begins in Kigali with a warm welcome from your Havy Tours driver-guide. After a quick city pickup or airport meet-up, buckle up for a stunning drive through “the land of a thousand hills” into Uganda—“the Pearl of Africa.”

Border Crossing: Either Katuna or Chanika, depending on your lodge location
Drive Time: Approx. 4–5 hours
Meal Plan: Lunch & Dinner
Lodging: Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge or Trekkers Tavern Lodge

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Rise early and prepare for the once-in-a-lifetime experience: trekking through ancient rainforest to find wild mountain gorillas.

What to expect:

• A pre-trek briefing at the park HQ

• A guided hike to locate your assigned gorilla family

• Trek durations vary from 30 mins to 6 hours (based on your group & gorilla location)

• Once located, you’ll spend one full hour observing gorillas in their natural habitat

• Photography is welcome, but flash is not permitted

• After your trek, return to the lodge for a hot shower, dinner, and some well-earned rest

Day 3: Return to Kigali

After a relaxed breakfast, enjoy the scenic return drive to Kigali. Depending on your flight time, we can drop you off directly at the airport or your hotel in Kigali.

• A valid passport & visa are required – East African Tourist Visa is highly recommended
